Danny has been the pastor of Rogers First Assembly in Rogers, Arkansas since 2008. With over 25 years of lead pastor experience, he has led churches in Texas and Arkansas. Danny and his wife Sonya were raised in Houston, Texas and have been married since 1991. They have 2 awesome children, Josh and Hannah.
Danny is the author of four books, Worry Less. WORRY FREE.; Sometimes, Church Hurts; Thoughts For The Journey; and From The Shepherd’s Heart. I’m glad you found my blog. Hannah’s sayings are enough to write about everyday. Eureka was great but we haven’t seen the Passion Play yet. I will put you on my email list and I will give it to Sonya also.
Yes the Daniel Fast is tough. Food is hard, but the music is really hard. I love music and to not listen to music is ot easy. Keep it up! Only 19 more days.
Danny I got a ? for you? There has been a rumor going around, about the world comeing to an End in the year 2012? What is your veiews on this? I know that know one knows when God will return, but it makes you wander though, cuz of all the signs are there that talks about it in the bible!
Also I was wandering if you could do a bible study in the book of Revalations? It would be interesting to hear your views on this.

I have heard alot about the 2012 date, but I do not put my stock in speculation. I do however, believe that Jesus could come back at any time. We certainly live in interesting times and there are alot of signs of His Coming. I will one day tackle the Revelation series, but I will probably do one on the end times some time later this year. I have heard of Bill Weise and read his book 23 minutes in hell. He has some good insight into Hell, a subject which is not talked about much anymore. As for the other question, call me and we will discuss it.
We have to vote for the new pastor today. My mom and me finally actualy became members of the church(even though we been going for 10+ years, it’s really no difference for us because of our service) and I am allowed to vote because I’m 17 and you only have to be 16. We really miss you at our church, and I can’t imagine another pastor. This guy had a good message and all, and I know he was nervous, but it wasn’t anything like yours, and it didn’t seem genuine, but I don’t want to pass on a good pastor just because I still have hope of you coming back. He didn’t seem to connect like you did, but he had jokes, and still got his point across in a good way, but I’m very unsure what to do and how to vote, and so is my mom. Please email me back with advice Pastor Cheney.
Hello Pastor Cheney! Well i was reading some of the comments that others wrote and i have to agree with this Judy lady, about when she said that it is like when we stray from God, and then come back, That he remembers the fond memories, that we had shared with God! And that is soooooooooo true!!!
I know that i am not the only one that struggles, with my Faith and stuff But at least i try and put an effort in it.

God does hold us near when we come back to Him and He remembers those times we used to have.

Danny and sonya!! I was thinking alot about the communion thing you preached to us on Sunday and I was thinking that it would be a good thing to maybe show the movie “Passion of the Christ” by Mel Gibson! Because that movie really shows alot of the things that Christ went through for us, that we all take for granted. But i would only recommend it only for Adults cuz of the grusome sence in this movie. But it does have where Jesus did the Lords Supper, and all the things that the bible says he did and went through. Also it would be a good Fellowship thing for all of us to do.
