What God Thinks of You

What do you think about yourself? Do you sometimes feel like you aren’t worth much?

Sometimes we are too hard on ourselves. We have a standard that we set for the way we think we ought to be, but most of the time we fail to attain that standard. The problem with this is that we tend to set our standard compared to what we see in someone else. We feel like we have to be as good or somehow like another person. God created everyone of us different. There are different people doing different works in different places. You will never be like the person you set your standard by, nor should you want to be like them. God created you special. He made you like you are to be the person He wants you to be. We have this idea that some people have it all together and that we will never amount to anything. You see, God made you to do things others can’t do. In your area of influence, only you will be effective because God put you there. God’s thoughts toward you are awesome. He thinks of you as a prize, as a jewel, even the apple of His eye.

Psalm 40:5 says, “Your thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to you in order; if I would declare and speak of them they are more than can be numbered.”

God thinks of you all the time! When He sees a job that needs to be done, He says, “You know they would be good at that.” I believe that it frustrates God when you constantly declare that you are not good enough. You may not have the same talent as someone else, but God gave you talents that others don’t have. God looks at you with great pleasure. You are His cherished vessel. The thoughts He thinks about you cannot be numbered. My friend, pick your head up and realize that God has chosen you for a purpose that no one else can do. You are important to God!

Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Stop wanting to be someone else, be yourself. That is the way God made you, and what a future you have!
